Key Insights Show…
design Process
With the time constraint of two weeks , and research key insights I was able to create the first design of the Second Chance App using Sketch.
Uh Oh I Think We Have A Design Problem !
User testing played a crucial role in determining the viability of the initial app design.
-
Development Time Constraints: It was identified that the radial menu screen design was not feasible within the given development timeline. This prompted a necessary redesign of the app.
-
Sim Daltonism: Accessibility testing using Sim Daltonism revealed that the app was not accessible to users with color blindness, highlighting significant issues in color contrast and differentiation.
-
HIG Compliance Check: The app was evaluated against the Human Interface Guidelines. It was found that the app did not adhere to these guidelines, indicating that it failed to provide an optimal user experience.
Design Two
I put my graphic design skills to use and created our new logo using Sketch
-
The redesign process was meticulously planned and executed, ensuring all critical issues from the initial design were addressed.
-
Sim Daltonism Test: The redesigned app successfully passed the Sim Daltonism test, confirming that it is now accessible to users with color blindness. Key adjustments included optimizing color contrast and differentiation.
-
The redesigned app strictly adhered to the Human Interface Guidelines, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience across the app.
In conclusion
Despite initial challenges, we successfully redesigned and developed the app, resolving all key issues. The app passed the Sim Daltonism test for accessibility and adhered to Human Interface Guidelines, resulting in a significantly improved user experience.
The app was built and presented to Apple Seniors and uploaded to TestFlight, completing our challenge successfully. While the feedback suggested creating a website, our group decided not to pursue this direction.
In summary, we successfully overcame the initial challenges and delivered a functional, user-friendly app.
